DR. M. D. DHANARAJU

It gives me immense pleasure to introduce our Institute, GIET School of Pharmacy, Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, India, on this global platform. The main goal of the Pharmaceutical Education is the making of a Pharmacist to play a key role in the Health-Care Team as an expert of drug products and their usage. Pharmacy profession is responsible for the appropriate use of medications, devices and services in order to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes. Pharmaceutical care is an indispensable element of total health care. A pharmacist is an educated and licensed person to dispense drugs and to provide drug information. Pharmacist is the prime source of assistance and guidance on many common ailments and health care matters.


Keeping the pace in view with the requirement of pharmacy profession in Rajahmundry, GIET School of Pharmacy was established in 2004 by Founder and Chairman Dr. K.V.V. Satyanarayana Raju, under Sri Koundinya Educational Society who is the pioneer in educational institutions of East Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh. The institute is affiliated to Andhra University, approved by AICTE and recognized by PCI, New Delhi. GIET School of Pharmacy is one of few institutions in Andhra Pradesh approved by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore, which illustrates its quality in academe. Considering the global focus on clinical orientation of the pharmacy profession, GIET School of Pharmacy is one of the few institutions, which introduced the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) course in 2008, for the first time in India, with the approval from PCI.

GIET School of Pharmacy has a team of well experienced and most knowledgeable faculty members, and it facilitate the students to access well equipped laboratories and technologies available in the institute. Our institution encourages students and the faculty by offering facilities for organizing and attending International and National level conferences and Workshops. It supports and gives additional training for the students to have the use of research activities other than prescribed curriculum. The institute has an established CPCSEA approved animal house to support the research activities. GIET School of Pharmacy is well known for its extracurricular and cultural activities. Every year we organize a National wide pharmacy students gathering known as “PHARMA JAMBOREE”.
